Apparently saying 'welcome to my website' makes you feel welcome, and makes me sound less like a curmudgeonly old git, despite sounding like it's 1999. I promise not to follow up with my favourite pizza, or start any millennial-themed parties.Currently, I'm mostly doing a weekly serialisation of my twisted, funny retro murder mystery based loosely on my childhood, told through the medium of the 1980s village newsletter. It's free on Substack and you can start here, on the contents page. There are other bits and bobs of fiction and related droppings on my other free Substack, Stubsack Fiction. See what I did there? It includes a bunch of 100-word micro fictions, some memoir things, and there will be short stories.I have an action packed monster-horror about vengeful squid on Freedom Fiction, and at some point 2026 some very nice publisher types have promised to:
- Post my ghost story about an eccentric old musician on the North Norfolk coast
- Publish a story about man with an unfortunate name stealing chairs during an ice storm
- Upload a podcast reading of a story about a dead Tour De France cyclist having his revenge on a Middle Aged Man In Lycra.More on this exciting news I get it. Follow me on BlueSky or Substack.I also post on Bluesky as @stubsackfiction.substack.com.Technically, I'm on Mastodon, though hilariously I have no (like, zero, 0, nil, zilch, none) followers and I have no idea how it works. And finally, Linktree.
